Finals Week vs. College Students
Ever since my oldest sister has returned home from her first term at college she would always act and behave in a manner that would irritate me down to the depts on my teenage soul. So, when given this project, I decided to use her her inspiration and create a series of emoji's dedicated to her and any other college students who feel the exact same ways. Stressed, tired sick to the head, and festive for the holiday season.
The Concept of Emojis
The use of facial expressions through a text has been used ever since flip phones were used for more then just a phone call. Smiley faces, frowny faces, and crying faces could all be made with simple symbols found in any phone (ex. :) | :(, | T.T | ;-;) But with technology advancing at a rapid pace it only took a few years of inovating to create what we now know as Emojis. They are simple faced that show in more detail what you are feeling through a text without having to go through the trouble of having to find the specific symbol that you sometimes didn't have.
Use of Emoji's in Modern Day
Emojis are a lot bigger than some people might think. They make apperencies in everyday life and it everyone who is anyone knows what they are. Katty Perry, a popular music icon in the United States, even used emojis to tell the story of her song in a lyric video (it can be watched in the upper left hand side). Texts get sent, instagram and tweets are shared, and all of them have emojis. They have now become part of everyday life for some people.
